About This Location

Value Place Memphis (Riverdale), TN, is conveniently located off of I-385 & Germantown Rd. Memphis is situated in the western corner of Tennessee in the area known as “the Mid-South,” and is the largest city in the state. Memphis sits in the center of a Mississippi River crossing for I-40 and I-55, and the site for barge traffic and numerous freight railroads making it a major transportation hub. In 2012, Forbes Magazine ranked Memphis as one of the top 15 cities with an emerging downtown area. Memphis’ famous barbeque also puts it on the map, and is home to more than 100 barbeque restaurants.

Memphis boasts several events, festivals, and celebrations as a result of its large melting pot of cultures. One of its largest, Memphis in May, is a month-long celebration of Memphis’ rich heritage that includes four main events: the Beale Street Music Festival, The World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest (largest port barbeque contest in the world!), the Sunset Symphony, and International Week. Downtown in April, arts, culture, and diversity are celebrated at the three-day long event—Africa in April or the April Cultural Awareness Festival. There you’ll find vendors, fashion, blues, and an international diversity parade. In June, musical acts, artisans, and Italian cooking competitions among other demonstrations and tournaments are held at Marquette Park during the Memphis Italian Festival. Another popular event, the Cooper-Young Festival, is held every year in September in the Cooper-Young District in Midtown. This is a market and arts festival featuring displays, contests, and local music. Throughout the rest of the year, you can always find live music or numerous other forms of entertainment and events—it’s where Memphis soul, Memphis blues, gospel, rock n’ roll, and other music genres began.

If you’re in Memphis with the family, there are plenty of exciting attractions to check out. Ride the Downtown Memphis Trolley or take a Hop On, Hop Off Tour to get a feel for the city’s unique culture and downtown areas. Explore Shelby Farms Park or the Memphis Zoo for some animal watching or head to the Children’s Museum of Memphis for some educational fun. Mud Island River Park in downtown offers unique experiences, including the Mississippi River Museum, Riverwalk, amphitheater, and The Mud Island Monorail ride.

While you’re staying at Value Place Riverdale, you’re only 15 minutes away from all the excitement. There are so many things to see and try while you’re in Memphis, but don’t leave without trying some barbeque.

Features and Add-Ons

Goodbye traditional hotel pricing, hello options.

At Value Place, you’ll find everything you need – like full-size appliances in a modified kitchen, your preferred furniture configuration, and bi-weekly cleaning – included in your room rate. We also offer guests what they might want – on-site, coin- or refillable card-operated laundry and vending, additional housekeeping and linen service, starter dish packs, coffeemakers and, at most properties, Internet – available at fair, additional costs. We price these options separately to prevent guests from having to pay for “fluff” they might not want or use and to help us keep our room rates low.

You can select the things you want to add to your stay now or do them once you arrive at the property.
