As a Brand, Value Place has experienced success and growth since opening our very first property in 2003.We’ve expanded strategically—and rapidly—to more than 170 properties in less than six years. Even in economic downturns, our business model continues to meet the needs of an underserved market—people looking for low-cost, short-term lodging that’s cleaner and safer than what they’ll find at many other extended stay hotels, discount motels and even many apartment properties. Most important, Value Place puts franchisees first—after all, the company itself is the largest franchisee and adheres to the same Brand Standards that we expect all of our franchisees to uphold. Franchise marketing support

The Value Place marketing team provides support for your property development with access to professionally designed collateral templates, signage and promotions that create awareness locally and nationally. This includes providing professional pieces that can be customized to your property location such as direct mail and print ads. Our website provides quick and easy navigation, and is constantly upgraded to keep up with industry trends and changing technology. Our team approach allows an open forum of communication where ideas and best practices can be shared among home office executives and franchisees.

Phone and web reservations

Our call center is staffed 24/7 with helpful agents who can assist callers in selecting the best Value Place location for their stay.  Reports are generated daily in order to monitor occupancy and customer comments. Due to the extreme importance of our online presence, we’ve introduced new functionality to make the user experience easy and convenient. A combination of straightforward navigation and accessible reservation tools were combined to provide the highest reservation conversions possible.

Training

At “Value Place University,” we utilize instructional media and exercises that are appropriate for the learning environment.  All of our property managers are required to take a rigorous certification course called PM 101.  This course is designed to teach them the fundamental operational and sales skills necessary for running their own property. Ongoing virtual and onsite training is also provided on a regular basis to sharpen skill sets and introduce new concepts.  We also understand that learning is increased and retained better by using on-the-job simulations, various exercises, role-playing and other instructional strategies. Our training materials follow the highest standards of adult learning theory, including clear and manageable objectives.  Assessments for proficiency and comprehension are often used within the training program to provide feedback and evaluate comprehension, proficiency, and performance in real-time.

National sales

Our National Sales Department was formalized in 2009 to capitalize on business generated from past sales efforts, extend the value of this business to all franchisees and seek additional revenue sources for the Brand. Operating out of corporate headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, the national sales team generated close to $8 million in business from corporate partners, third-party travel agencies and other sources in 2009— taking the total number of active corporate accounts from 88 to more than 275.

Quality assurance program

Our Quality Assurance Program is our core program—and absolutely vital for providing consistency throughout the Brand and thereby protecting it.  To ensure that each property operates efficiently, reviews are conducted prior to opening and on a regular basis thereafter. The Value Place home office team works diligently to communicate and train property employees on new and existing Brand Standards.

CLEAN & SAFE program

In addition to comprehensive quality assurance, our CLEAN & SAFE Program is an essential component to driving occupancy and presenting a positive image at each property and thus to our overarching Brand. Attributes of the program include the integration of safety and cleaning processes, which when performed daily and in conjunction with each other, allow the property’s team to achieve consistency in operations, guest satisfaction and application of Brand Standards — while also protecting company assets — all of which play a key role in properly managing the Value Place Brand.
